We hold a lot of emotions in our lower bodies and hips. Maybe you have been in a yoga class where a student started crying while in pigeon pose or you felt some strange feelings coming up in Yogi Squat. This actually happens quite often.
The hips are the biggest joint in the body and they play a vital part in supporting our posture. We need our hips to move, sit and stand. That’s why there can be a lot of tension in the muscles around the hips and pelvis. Because the hips are so stable, we store a lot of emotions in this area.
New on YouTube: Yoga for the Hips & Lower Back
You can use yoga poses and stretches to improve hip mobility and release emotions. Stretching your hips will helps you to release tension in your muscles, reduce lower back pain and improve your posture.
This will stabilize your body, make you more aware, and will overall help you to feel balanced.
Here are my favorite yoga poses for the hips
Low Lunge
Sleeping Pigeon Pose
Yogi Squat
