We all hold a lot of tension in our bodies. The shoulders and the jaw are body parts that are impacted by this quite often.<\/p>\n

Poor alignment of the neck or spine as well as stress, anxiety or pain can lead to a popping, clicking or locking of the jaw. Also some forms of arthritis can cause jaw clenching or tension.<\/p>\n

TMJ, which is short for the temporomandibular joint, connects the jawbone to the skull. TMJ disorder is pain and tenderness in this area when the joint moves out of place or the discs between the bones erode. This leads to locking and clicking in the jaw.<\/p>\n
